Steam, Scenery and Superb Cities in Denmark and Northern Germany
Join us on an exciting new rail holiday to Scandinavia, where you will be based in the Danish capital city of Copenhagen.
Steam in Denmark and Northern Germany - Tuesday 4 August to Thursday 13 August 2026
The tour includes a spectacular rail journey over the landmark Öresund Bridge to Malmö, Sweden, and showcases the best of Denmark's heritage steam railways, including both narrow- and standard-gauge routes.
An additional attraction is a visit to the Danish National Railway Museum in Odense and a ride on the exquisite archaic 1846 rebuilt steam locomotive, ‘Odin’. You can witness ‘Odin’ here or see it in action at Odense.
Another charming steam highlight is the Maribo heritage railway on the island of Lolland, which you can see here.
The tour concludes in style in Hamburg following a comfortable EuroCity train journey from Denmark to northern Germany. In Hamburg, steam by land and water awaits, including a private dinner cruise on the River Alster aboard the 1876 steamer ‘St. Georg’.
